We have some exciting news that will increase the number and range of activities that are on offer each month. Assert have been in discussions with Impetus, who manage Aspire, for many months about Assert taking on the Aspire project. This has now happened and Assert are now managing what was the Aspire project. We are really excited to have 2 new members of staff joining the Assert team, Nicola Jones and David Workman. They will both be working on Thursdays on the new project.
Alternative Thursday Activities- Every other Thursday there is a low cost activity. One Thursday we are ‘in’ at Assert in Community Base, and the next Thursday we are ‘out’ in Brighton. Every week is a different activity. Twice a year there is a planning session so the next six months are mapped out. You need to book to come to the ‘out’ activities but the ‘in’ activities are drop ins, so no need to book.
If you would like anymore information on the new project and activities please contact either Nicola or David on the following emails:
About the activities
Once a fortnight there will be an activity, decided on by participants of the group (these are planned in 6 month blocks and are decided on until June 2019). Activities rotate between being ‘in house’ (either at the Aspire offices until the beginning of May or in the conference room at Community Base from the end of May onwards) and being out at different locations in town. Activities planned so far are:
4th April – In: Takeaway
18th April – Out: Glowballs
2nd May – In: Gamesnight
16th May – Out: Laserzone
30th May – In: Film night
13th June – Out: Fish & chips on beach (if bad weather: Ice Cream Parlour)
27th June – In: Craft session and planning (The group will plan activities for the next 6 months)
People are required to pay the full amount for any costs for activities. Costs will be advised prior to any activities taking place. You will need to request a place for activities that are out and about as we will need to know numbers and often book in advance for what we are doing. Numbers will be capped for activities that are out and about.
