Activities and Social Events

Assert monthly drop in

Each month Assert host a social drop in for service users who are registered with Assert. This takes place on a Tuesday evening. This is an opportunity for people to get together and socialise in a supported and autism friendly environment.

Light refreshments are provided free of charge. We also provide some board games and lego for people to use if they wish to. When you first come along to a drop in, staff and volunteers will ensure that you are introduced to some regulars from our drop in. 6-8 large tables with chairs are provided and there is also a small outside balcony space.

Assert monthly activities, annual day trip and Christmas meal

Each month Assert organise an activity for service users. Examples of the types of activities include: cycling the undercliff, Lido trip, Crown green bowls, craft sessions, museum visits, Marina boat trip, laser quest and theatre trips. Service users are required to pay the cost of a trip or an activity where possible or to make a donation to a craft session (contact us to discuss if this may be difficult).

Assert also have an annual day trip, decided on by service users. This normally takes place in September and recent examples of trips are Chessington World of Adventures, Arundel Castle and London Zoo.

The Assert Christmas meal takes place each December and is always well attended with places going very quickly. In 2018, 42 people attended at the Mecure on Brighton seafront.
